Welcome to the WOW! WOMEN ON WRITING TOUR of All Money Ain’t Good Money By Tracey Lampley. Tracey has also written a guest post for us about how she’s love to have dinner with six authors. Thank you so much Tracey.
And now here’s Tracey:
Six Authors I’d Love to Invite for Supper
by Tracey Lampley
Like most readers, I’m also a fan of the authors I love. I’ll only list three traditionally published authors. Because I also review books on my website, I’ll include three indie authors that I’d love to invite for supper. The traditionally published authors include:
- Terry McMillan: I’d love to pepper her with questions about novel structure, novel research and novel marketing.
- Janet Evanovich: I’d love to know on whom she based Stephanie Plum. Had she always meant for Lula to be a recurring character? Will she eventually age Stephanie Plum?
- Jackie Collins: Although she’s deceased, I’d love to regal her with stories I’d written in my spiral notebooks for I mimicked her style back then. I swapped books with my friends and cousins. I remember reading Lady Boss, and my cousin swiped my book because she thought it would be interesting. I cursed her out because she refused to return it until after she finished reading it. So, I bought another one. But I paid her back by slipping Vendetta: Lucky’s Revenge inside my tote bag. Later she called me screaming because she was halfway through it. Those were the days in reading.
About eight years ago, I stopped reviewing books because I was overwhelmed with the many requests at my Book Mistress Blog. Knowing what I know now, I could’ve recruited English and Creative Writing college students to help me whittle down the hundreds of requests for reviews. Now I’m back at it. I’ve read some talented indie authors. Some indie authors that I’d love to invite for supper are the following:
- Stack McIntyre: He wrote a book of poems called Heavy Talk! Volume 1: Poetry From the Hip-Hop/Crack Generation. The collection runs the gamut of what occurs in different stages of his life. I especially enjoyed his poem “Dear Black Woman.” His poetry could be featured in a film as song or poem.
- George Bachman: He wrote a horror novel titled The Phage, which could be adapted into a film or television movie.
- David Kummer: He wrote The House on the Hill trilogy of psychological thrillers. This series could also be adapted into either films or television movies.
